Meanwhile, back at the lab... surprise! The "scope" is literally a hand-drawn diagram on a piece of paper with some squiggly lines. Budget cuts strike again! This is why physicists develop that thousand-yard stare by their third year. Nothing says "cutting-edge research" like pretending your thumb and index finger is a caliper.

Three engineers standing there contemplating the laws of thermodynamics while the sales guy is already promising customers that entropy can be reversed. Classic corporate dynamics where the people who understand the technical constraints are silently judging while the sales department promises the impossible. And somehow the sales guy still gets the bonus.

The tiny hard hat remains regulation size though, because safety standards don't scale down with wordplay.

Engineers staring at square waves on an oscilloscope while calling them "sin waves" is peak technical humor. The joke hinges on the dual meaning: these are clearly not mathematical sine waves (smooth curves), but they might indeed be "sin" waves if you consider how much they're violating fundamental signal processing principles. That oscilloscope is displaying the electronic equivalent of mathematical blasphemy.

The consequences of skipping Structural Engineering 101. These balconies are just decorative railings attached to a flat wall—no actual platform to stand on. Reminds me of the time our department head said "theoretical knowledge will suffice." Clearly someone took that too literally and designed balconies you can only enjoy in theory. The structural integrity is impeccable though—can't collapse if there's nothing to collapse.
