NASA: "We've detected an asteroid approaching Earth."
Rest of the world: "How big is it?"
Americans: "About 64 Canadian geese stacked beak to tail."
The scientific community just collectively facepalmed so hard we altered Earth's rotation. Next time you wonder why we can't have nice things like universal measurement standards, remember we're measuring space rocks in waterfowl units. I'm half expecting the next asteroid to be measured in "football fields per hamburger" or "bald eagles squared."
