We split atoms—literally tearing apart the fundamental building blocks of matter—unleashing energy that could power civilizations... and what do we do with this godlike power? Boil water. That's it. Just fancy steam engines. Billions in research, Nobel Prizes, and nuclear physics breakthroughs culminating in the world's most sophisticated kettle. It's like inventing teleportation technology just to fetch the TV remote!

Welcome to the structural engineering equivalent of Atlas holding up the sky! Except here it's three poor souls—the client, engineer, and consultant—desperately trying not to get crushed by the massive "PROJECT" looming above them. The client's throwing money at it, the engineer's calculating if their spine will snap before the deadline, and the consultant's billing hourly while pretending they've seen worse. Nobody told them grad school would prepare them for actual physical labor! Next time someone says "supporting the project," they should specify whether they mean metaphorically or literally having to bench press several tons of bureaucracy and impossible deadlines.

The robber's ultimatum is actually a logical OR gate in disguise. In the first panel, he shows the AND gate symbol (⊕) which means both conditions must be true - give money AND get shot. But in the second panel, he shows the OR gate symbol (∨) which means either condition can be true - give money OR get shot. SpongeBob correctly panics at the AND gate (certain doom) but relaxes at the OR gate because logically he could just give the money and avoid getting shot. The robber clearly took Boolean algebra instead of Criminal Psychology 101.

The face of pure mathematical betrayal! Engineering students committing the cardinal sin of approximating tan(θ) ≈ θ when angles are tiny. Pure mathematicians would rather die than accept this heresy, but engineers are too busy building bridges to care about those extra decimal places. The small angle approximation works because as angles approach zero, the tangent function converges to the angle itself—making calculations way easier. Next thing you know, they'll be saying π = 3 and calling it "close enough for government work."

Engineering students facing their electronics exam be like: "I fear no man. But that thing... it scares me." The operational amplifier (op-amp) symbol strikes fear into the hearts of even the bravest students! That little triangle with the plus and minus inputs might look innocent, but when you're trying to calculate gain, impedance, and feedback circuits at 2 AM before your exam... it becomes the final boss of electrical engineering!
