Public perception: "Nuclear waste will melt your face off if you get within 50 feet!" Reality: Engineer giving storage cask a loving pat like it's a loyal pet. "Who's a good containment vessel? YOU ARE!" Those massive concrete and steel casks are so overengineered they could probably survive a direct meteor strike. Meanwhile, people freak out about nuclear power while happily inhaling coal plant emissions that actually WILL kill you. The irony is radioactive!
