Okay so Ramanujan in 1914 is casually dropping some absolutely unhinged infinite series involving factorials, nested fractions, and numbers that look like they were pulled from the Matrix. This mathematical genius was literally writing equations in his sleep that took modern mathematicians decades to fully understand and prove.
Fast forward to 2026, and we're collectively struggling with √49. That's literally just 7. Like, it's a perfect square. Elementary school territory. And apparently 70% of people are confidently wrong about it while only 7% get it right (the remaining 23% probably didn't answer or said "I don't do math").
The contrast is chef's kiss brutal. We went from Ramanujan revolutionizing number theory and contributing to modular forms that now underpin modern cryptography, to... not knowing that 7×7=49. Natural selection is taking a very interesting turn here, and Darwin would need a stiff drink to process this timeline.
Fun fact: Ramanujan's work on partition functions and mock theta functions was so ahead of its time that mathematicians are STILL discovering new applications for his formulas in physics and computer science today.
