When you're doing a titration but forget the ONE thing that tells you when to stop! That feeling when you realize you've set up the perfect acid-base experiment but forgot the phenolphthalein (or methyl orange if you're fancy). Without an indicator, you're just pouring liquids together with zero clue when neutralization happens. It's like trying to find the end of a movie with the screen turned off. Chemistry students everywhere just felt a collective shudder down their spines remembering that one lab where they had to start all over because they skipped step 3 in the protocol.
