This nails one of the biggest misconceptions about evolution! People see those classic "march of progress" diagrams and think evolution is some kind of ladder with humans at the top, like nature was grinding XP to unlock the final boss form. But that's not how natural selection works at all!
Evolution has no goal, no direction, no finish line. Each organism shown here wasn't an "in-between stage" awkwardly waiting to become human—they were perfectly adapted survivors crushing it in their own environments. That early primate? Absolute legend in the trees. The upright walker? Dominating the savanna. Modern humans? Well, we're just really good at scrolling through memes about evolution, which is apparently a winning survival strategy.
Natural selection doesn't "aim" anywhere. It's just organisms that happen to survive their environment long enough to reproduce. There's no cosmic checklist saying "Step 1: Fish, Step 2: Amphibian, Step 3: ???, Step 4: Profit!" Every single stage is the current winner of the survival game, not a rough draft.
