Comparing mechanical to aerospace is like saying a paper airplane is equivalent to a Mars rover. Sure, they share fundamental principles, but one literally has to account for the vacuum of space, hypersonic speeds, and extreme temperature variations. The childlike naivety of thinking these disciplines are equally challenging would make even the wisest Jedi master facepalm.
