Sure, we know particles and forces exist, but try explaining why my cat ignores me using quantum field theory! First principles are great for rocket science, but consciousness? Love? Why pineapple on pizza is controversial? Good luck reducing THAT to quarks and leptons! The universe is gloriously messy and complex—sometimes you need biology, psychology, and even *gasp* philosophy to make sense of it. Reductionism has its limits, and apparently, those limits make even gamma-radiated superheroes emotional!

The hard problem of consciousness remains the ultimate flex on physicists. We've split atoms, detected gravitational waves, and photographed black holes, but ask us to explain why you experience the color blue and suddenly we're all "well, technically, quantum superposition suggests..."
