Sorry octopuses, but literally every other animal just showed up to the group project. You've got lions with their social structures, wolves with pack coordination, primates with tool use, corvids solving puzzles, ants building megacities, whales with complex communication, and even mice running their tiny rodent empires. Meanwhile, octopuses are out here being antisocial geniuses who live for like 2 years max and refuse to pass down knowledge to the next generation because they die right after reproducing. Like, you're literally one of the smartest invertebrates on the planet with problem-solving skills that would make some vertebrates jealous, but you chose the hermit lifestyle and a ridiculously short lifespan. Imagine if octopuses lived as long as parrots and were social โ we'd probably be competing with them for ocean real estate by now!
