While your average enzyme would unfold and die at 70-80°C, this heat-loving badass from Thermus aquaticus bacteria is literally just getting comfortable. It's the molecular equivalent of someone relaxing in a hot tub while everyone else is screaming about third-degree burns. That's why PCR works - this enzyme keeps copying DNA while the rest of the reaction components are experiencing what can only be described as molecular hell.
