Talk about a dramatic entrance! While Darwin was getting grilled about how traits pass from one generation to the next, Mendel was just chilling in his monastery garden, crossing plants and basically inventing genetics without even trying to start a religious war. The man literally discovered the fundamental laws of inheritance by playing with pea plants while everyone else was having an existential crisis. Scientific mic drop of the 19th century!
