This meme is a hilarious take on the catastrophic ecological disaster known as the chestnut blight! The Japanese Chestnut carried a fungal pathogen that decimated 4 BILLION American Chestnut trees when it was introduced in the early 1900s. Both modern botanists (regardless of gender) would absolutely time travel to warn people about this ecological disaster, but the historical botanist is just like "UHHHH OK" because introducing non-native species was pretty much standard practice back then.
